What you’ll learn
Advanced casting: efficient single haul, double-haul refinement, long-line control, and casting for accuracy in wind and tight quarters.
Presentation and stripping: timing, cadence, and strip lengths that trigger aggressive eats from red fish, stripers, bluefish, and speckled trout.
Fly selection and knot basics: selecting patterns by season, water clarity, and forage; essential saltwater knots and leader/turnover setups.
Reading saltwater: interpreting tides, current seams, flats, channels, and structure to pick likely fish-holding spots.
Shore and boat tactics: effective approaches for sight fishing on foot or from flats boats.
Fish handling and ethics: landing and releasing saltwater fish safely; local regulations and conservation practices that protect fisheries.
